Can you believe that in just four weeks’ time, we’ll be in 2026.

2026 will be the 55th anniversary of the debut of Young Talent Time and it is safe to say that for many fans the affection for the show has not dipped one bit.

2026 will be 38 years since the end of the original run, 36 years if you count the 1990 effort, it will be 14 years since YTT 2012 started and ended, time has moved by so quick but yet it all seems like it was yesterday.

There is still so much on offer on eBay, the prices may be a little steep but then the question has to be asked, how common is each item?

You can buy an episode that has been put on a DVD disc for $40.98 when you include postage, can you believe that in 2026 it will be 14 years since Joe Perrone released ‘Don’t Stop’ with Sebastian Krieg, it is on iTunes for those who are curious, it is still a catchy number.

While many love to remember the 1971-88, 1990 times, do have a think about the team members careers post that time, they have done quite a bit since then.

Be kind to YTT 2012, those kids took a beating on social media back then, caught up between original fans desire for the 1971-88, 1990 style and the modern tastes of teenagers but those team members got going once the show ended and have done well for themselves.

Just today, there was an article on news.com.au about the real estate moves that Australian Idol contestants have made over the years, Rob Mills was included in the list, his hosting of Young Talent Time was not mentioned.

We look forward to seeing what 2026 will bring.
