Saturday was the 50th Anniversary of the airing of the first episode of Young Talent Time, the day before was the 50th Anniversary of the show being taped for the first time.
Johnny Young and a host of former Young Talent Team members filmed the special that will be shown via purchase on May 1 and it is going to be a long week for fans as they wait for the clock to tick down.
It is an understatement to say that the majority of fans are excited about it all, piles and piles of comments are all over Facebook about it.
We’ve heard little bits and pieces about the taping, it apparently went well though Johnny Young was apparently snappy with the camera crew (though another source says it was a joke) and he shot down talk of the dark side of entertainment calling the subject bulls**t.
If you’re a fan of the 80’s you’ll be very happy with the people on the special and if you prefer the early to mid 70’s then you might be disappointed and if you’re a 2012 fan, save your $14.95 because they weren’t even mentioned in the taping.

YTT Fan News spent the weekend watching YouTube numbers to see if the anniversary affected viewing numbers and it had with numbers almost doubling, YTT groups and pages also experienced an increase in numbers.
Our contribution to the anniversary was a simple collage, the first Young Talent Team in 1971 and the last one in 2012, sure the anniversary is focusing on the 1971-88 television run but the franchise as a whole is fifty years and had shows in 1971 to 1988, the one special in 1990 and the one season 2012 and it is a history that cannot be ignored or cheapened.
So that was the weekend of the fiftieth anniversary, see you next year for the tenth anniversary of 2012.
